Stay on Top of Your Money With Tiller and AI
Tiller keeps your finances ready for any AI you choose

Spreadsheets are the (unlock) smart foundation for understanding your money with AI
AI for personal finance starts with a spreadsheet you own.
Spreadsheets are the universal interface for understanding money.
Unlike apps that hide your data, spreadsheets keep you in control
with data you can see, verify, and edit, with any AI you choose.
Structured
Rows, fields, and columns give AI clear data to work from.
Verifiable
Easy to check, because AI is only as trustworthy as the data behind it.
Customizable
Your categories and notes give AI context to think like you.
Yours
Use your spreadsheet with your preferred AI models today and tomorrow.
Tiller turns spreadsheets into a personal finance service for you and your AI
Tiller connects your banks and spreadsheets with an automatic daily feed of your latest spending and balances, so you can stay on top of your money with everything updated in one place.
Accounts stay updated
Transactions and balances from your connected accounts flow into your spreadsheet automatically, so AI starts with recent financial activity instead of a one-time export.
Optimized for AI
Tiller uses consistent fields, one transaction per row, and stable IDs, so AI can efficiently and accurately compare and calculate across accounts with less guesswork.
Adapts to you
Your categories, corrections, splits, rules, notes, and reports stay with your financial record, so future reports and AI analyses build over time.
Human support
Templates and daily email briefings help you keep on top of your money. When you need help, Tiller’s support team is here.

How to Use AI and Tiller
Create a personalized weekly money briefing
With a scheduled workflow, AI can deliver a weekly or monthly briefing from the latest data in your Tiller spreadsheet, highlighting meaningful spending changes and transactions that need attention.
“Every Monday, summarize what changed across my accounts last week. Flag unusual spending, categories running ahead of budget, and transactions I should review.”
Tiller also includes Hello, Money for a quick overview of recent activity across connected accounts.
Always know what’s happening with your money
With current financial data already in place, AI can help you review what changed, answer questions, build reports, and automate more of the work around your money.
Ask questions about your money

AI can use your balances, transactions, categories, and history to answer specific questions about spending, budgets, and plans.
“Which subscriptions became more expensive this year?”
“Which categories are over budget this month, and which transactions pushed them over?”
“How much did we spend on groceries last quarter, and what changed from the quarter before?”
Build the report you want
AI can create formulas, tables, charts, dashboards, scripts, and reusable reports around your Tiller data. The resulting work stays in your spreadsheet, where you can inspect, edit, and reuse it.
“Create a report that uses my existing categories to show dining spending by month for the past year.”
Set up and customize Tiller with AI
AI can explain a formula, modify a template, build a dashboard, create a report, write a script, or configure a spreadsheet around the way you manage money.
“I wouldn’t be using Tiller without the aid of AI.”

Automate larger workflows
Agents and automations can handle recurring work such as preparing a monthly review, auditing categories, or updating a report. Technical users can also build custom workflows with APIs and MCP while keeping the Tiller spreadsheet as the financial foundation.

See how an AI answer checks against the spreadsheet
For an important financial number, the spreadsheet can calculate the answer first. That calculation gives you a direct check on the AI response using the same accounts, dates, categories, filters, exclusions, and rows.
The question
How much did we spend on groceries in the second quarter?
The spreadsheet answer
[DETERMINISTIC TOTAL]
The spreadsheet calculates the total from the Transactions sheet using the Groceries category, the quarter’s date range, and the workbook’s reporting rules.
The AI answer
Prompt: [EXACT PROMPT]
Answer: [EXACT RESPONSE]
The check
The check compares the AI’s date range, category filter, excluded categories, transaction count, and total with the spreadsheet calculation.
[INSERT ANY ERROR OR CORRECTION FOUND IN THE DEMONSTRATION]
The demonstration shows how to verify one answer against one workbook. The result does not measure how often an AI answers financial questions correctly.

AI Suggest adds optional AI categorization
AI Suggest is an optional AutoCat feature for Google Sheets with Direct Fills. AutoCat Rules run first, Description Match uses your previous categorization choices next, and AI Suggest can propose categories for transactions that remain uncategorized.

Your data, your choice
Each AI workflow exposes a different amount of financial data and allows different actions. The right workflow depends on the task and the access you want to grant.
AI stays optional
Tiller does not automatically send your transactions and balances to an AI model. You can use Tiller without AI Suggest, Tiller MCP, or a third-party AI assistant.
A focused task can stay narrowly scoped
A focused question rarely requires every account, tab, or year of history. A smaller data set lets you limit the accounts, dates, columns, and tabs shared with the AI.
Current data comes first
The relevant accounts and dates need to be present before the analysis starts. Uncategorized transactions, duplicates, missing data, and stale connections can change the answer.
Important calculations stay in the spreadsheet
For a total that matters, a formula or query gives you a calculation you can rerun. The AI can identify the accounts, date range, filters, excluded categories, and transaction count behind its answer for comparison with the spreadsheet.
Access depends on the workflow
A copied range, an uploaded workbook, a spreadsheet-native AI, and a live MCP connection provide different levels of access. Some workflows keep access after a session. Each setup guide explains what the AI can read and change, whether access persists, and how to remove access.
The spreadsheet stays when tools change
Your Tiller spreadsheet stays in your Google or Microsoft account with your history, categories, formulas, and reports. If you cancel Tiller, the spreadsheet stays in your account and new automated Tiller updates stop.
Each service brings its own privacy terms
Tiller processes and stores data needed to provide the service under Tiller’s Privacy Policy. When you use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or another third-party AI service, that provider’s terms, permissions, retention settings, and privacy practices apply to the information you share.
Consequential decisions still need qualified review
AI can explain data, compare options, and prepare analysis. Tax, lending, credit, investment, legal, and other consequential decisions may require review from a qualified professional.
